Data Deletion
Gorilla Pulse is built so that your data lives on your own store, not on our servers. Because of that, most deletion is something you can do yourself, instantly, without asking anyone. This page explains exactly what exists where, and how to erase it.
1. Data on your phone
The app stores your pairing credentials and small preferences (like your selected date range) on your device only.
- Unpair (Settings → Unpair) deletes the stored credentials immediately.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device.
2. Data on your website
The plugin stores its settings, pairing keys, license state, and stored daily recaps in your own WordPress database.
- Deactivating the plugin stops all tracking and data collection instantly.
- Deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen runs a full cleanup that removes every option, key, and stored recap it created.
- Marketing attribution recorded on your past orders (order metadata) is part of your store’s own order history and is deliberately left in place — it belongs to your business. It can be removed with a single database command, documented in the plugin’s uninstall file, if you want it gone too.
- The plugin’s visitor cookie cannot be deleted remotely after the plugin is removed; it simply expires on its own within 30 days and nothing reads it.
3. Data on our servers
We hold only three narrow categories, all tied to running the service:
- Support conversations you’ve sent us through the in-app Support feature (your messages and your store’s address).
- License and usage records — your license key, the site it’s activated on, and AI usage counts, kept for billing and service operation.
- AI requests are processed to generate your summary or answer and are not retained as a stored history by us.
To have your support conversations and license records deleted, email hello@gorillapublic.com from the email address associated with your purchase (or include your store URL). We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days. Note that deleting license records ends the license’s ability to activate, and records required for tax and accounting compliance (purchase invoices) are retained as the law requires.
4. Payment data
Payments are processed by our commerce provider and its payment processors; we never hold your card details. Deletion requests for payment-processor records can be included in your email and we will coordinate, subject to their legal retention requirements.
5. The short version
Unpair the app, delete the plugin — everything under your control is gone in two minutes. Email us for the rest and it’s gone within 30 days.
